The small click of the bail being lifted, the orange seal giving way, the ivory slice detaching under a blade dipped in hot water… this is Lafitte Whole Duck Foie Gras, the one you open when you want the evening to become a memory.

There are jars you don’t open on a Tuesday night. You save them. You look at them in the pantry thinking, “for the right moment.” And then the right moment arrives: the table is set, the glasses are out, someone says, “go on, let’s open it.” The bail lifts, the lid gives way. And everyone leans in.

The first bite. The slice is perfectly chilled, yet it begins to melt as soon as it touches your tongue. A silky, dense texture, without any hardness, spreading on the palate like a secret. Then the taste emerges: round, deep, slightly buttery, with a sweetness that settles in and refuses to leave. On toasted brioche, with a pinch of fleur de sel and a spoonful of fig jam, the sweet and savory notes play off each other, and the flavor lingers long after you’ve swallowed. You close your eyes without meaning to. And you are in France, on a Sunday in December, with family around the table and no one checking the time.

Imagine the table. In France, foie gras is not a luxury product you order to impress: it is the dish you serve those you love. It’s for the holiday meals that stretch on, the appetizer you wait for all year, the slice you carve with care so that everyone gets some. This is whole duck foie gras, in a jar, exactly as it should be: what you are tasting is the liver itself.

Maison Lafitte. On every jar, the company introduces itself in one sentence: creator of foie gras since 1920. More than a century of working with duck foie gras and making it their signature. A simple label, an orange seal, a glass jar with a mechanical closure: here, the product speaks for itself.

You don’t buy foie gras “to have an appetizer.” You buy it for that precise moment when the conversation stops, when someone says “oh…” and everyone falls silent to savor it. You buy it for New Year’s Eve, for reunions, for the dinner where you want to show those you love that they matter.

A little piece of France, somewhere in Canada. Outside, it’s already dark at 5:00 PM, there is snow on the windshield, and the Christmas shopping list is endless. But tonight, on the table, there is a jar, toasted bread, fig jam, and a glass of champagne. For ten minutes, you aren’t shivering: you are in a dining room in France, the window slightly ajar to an October garden. And those ten minutes are worth every dollar.

Serving suggestions
Serve well chilled, in thin slices, with toasted brioche or rustic bread. Pair with fig jam, a little fleur de sel, and a glass of Sauternes or champagne.

WHY WE USE THIS SHIPPING SYSTEM ONCE A WEEK

The reason is simple: that's why we use this shipping system once a week, where products are shipped on Sundays.

If we were to keep all products in large quantities, we would need a very, very, very large warehouse, like a large distribution center. The cost of that would significantly increase our prices.

Instead, we keep limited stock and receive weekly deliveries.

However, not all of our 100+ suppliers deliver at the same time, and not all of them have an accurate inventory system — and that's another story lol.

For this reason, in order to build your package, we have to wait for products from all suppliers. If we already have all the items, your package may be sent faster. It also depends on the volume of orders.

We hope you understand 🙏

WHEN WILL MY ORDER BE SHIPPED?

All orders are dispatched once a week, on Sundays. All services, including express service, follow this same shipping schedule.

You place an order here (Week 1) – for example: whether it's Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, or Saturday.

👉 This is considered our order week (Week 1).

👉 Your order will be prepared from the following Monday until Saturday, then dispatched on the following Sunday (the next Sunday, not the one in the week you ordered).

👉 If you order on Sunday or later in the new week, your package will then be dispatched the Sunday after that, approximately 14 days later.

Product FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHEN WILL MY ORDER BE SHIPPED?

Orders are processed weekly.

If you place your order before Sunday, it will be processed and shipped on the following Sunday (not the immediate Sunday).

If you order after Sunday, it will be processed and shipped on the following Sunday (i.e., the second Sunday after your order).

WHERE ARE THESE PRODUCTS LOCATED?

All our products are already in Canada, in our warehouse, ready to be shipped. You will not have any customs fees or hidden charges upon delivery.

WHY DO YOU SHIP ONCE A WEEK?

Because we work with several importers and suppliers.

Some products are in limited quantity in our warehouse and we must wait for the missing items to be received.

Since our suppliers do not all deliver on the same day, we consolidate orders and ship once a week to ensure your order is complete.

WHY IS AN ITEM MISSING FROM MY ORDER?

Some of our suppliers do not have a real-time inventory system and do not always notify us when a product is out of stock.

In addition, some received items may have an expiration date that is too soon. We check each product upon receipt and remove those that do not meet our standards.

If an item is missing, it is because we have chosen not to include it in order to guarantee you the best possible quality.

WHY DON'T YOU HAVE A RETURN POLICY?

As these are food products, we cannot accept returns for safety and hygiene reasons.

Once a product has been shipped, we cannot guarantee the storage or handling conditions.

Why has the price of this product increased since my last order?

Our products are purchased in euros, so the exchange rate directly influences our prices.

In addition, transportation and import costs can vary, which can also impact the final price.
