A pinch between thumb and forefinger, a fine snow falling on a ripe tomato, and the sea has just been invited to the table.

There are summer mornings on the Portuguese coast when the table is set outside and someone cuts a tomato still warm from the sun. A drizzle of olive oil, a piece of bread, and then the pinch that changes everything: a fine, light salt that we let fall from our fingertips. It melts almost before touching the tomato, and already the taste is rounder, truer.

This salt is nothing like the kind we know in salt shakers. It is not stark white, refined, and uniform. It is fine, natural, a little irregular, and it keeps in its scent and taste something of the sea. On the tongue, the fine grain melts in an instant. The taste arrives crisp and clean at first, then the minerality sets in gently, without harshness or bitterness, leaving a salty, almost sweet freshness in the finish. It is a salt that seasons without shouting, enhances without overpowering, and gives the dish exactly what it was waiting for.

It comes from the Belamandil salt pans, in the Ria Formosa natural reserve, near Olhão, in the Algarve. There, the sea enters the basins, the sun works slowly, and hands come to harvest the salt, one harvest after another. Because it is minimally processed, it remains naturally rich in minerals, just as the sea made it. It contains no additives or allergens.

You don't buy it to salt. You buy it to taste. For morning eggs, for bread dough and pastries, for a marinade, to salt meat or fish before drying or preserving it. A little bowl by the stove, and you use it every day without even thinking.

And everywhere in Canada, when the days grow shorter and the kitchen becomes the warmest room in the house, a good fine sea salt in the pantry is like a little light. A pinch on soup, on vegetables, on toast, and for a second, it tastes like the Portuguese coast.

Why our customers love it:

  • A fine, natural sea salt that melts quickly and seasons evenly
  • Hand-harvested by artisans in the Belamandil salt pans, in the Ria Formosa natural reserve, in the Algarve
  • Naturally rich in minerals, because it is minimally processed, unlike refined table salt
  • Free of additives and allergens
  • Versatile: for seasoning, cooking, baking, and salting meats and fish
  • 400g size, a little kitchen ritual that you always keep within reach

WHY WE USE THIS SHIPPING SYSTEM ONCE A WEEK

The reason is simple: that's why we use this shipping system once a week, where products are shipped on Sundays.

If we were to keep all products in large quantities, we would need a very, very, very large warehouse, like a large distribution center. The cost of that would significantly increase our prices.

Instead, we keep limited stock and receive weekly deliveries.

However, not all of our 100+ suppliers deliver at the same time, and not all of them have an accurate inventory system — and that's another story lol.

For this reason, in order to build your package, we have to wait for products from all suppliers. If we already have all the items, your package may be sent faster. It also depends on the volume of orders.

We hope you understand 🙏

WHEN WILL MY ORDER BE SHIPPED?

All orders are dispatched once a week, on Sundays. All services, including express service, follow this same shipping schedule.

You place an order here (Week 1) – for example: whether it's Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, or Saturday.

👉 This is considered our order week (Week 1).

👉 Your order will be prepared from the following Monday until Saturday, then dispatched on the following Sunday (the next Sunday, not the one in the week you ordered).

👉 If you order on Sunday or later in the new week, your package will then be dispatched the Sunday after that, approximately 14 days later.

Product FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHEN WILL MY ORDER BE SHIPPED?

Orders are processed weekly.

If you place your order before Sunday, it will be processed and shipped on the following Sunday (not the immediate Sunday).

If you order after Sunday, it will be processed and shipped on the following Sunday (i.e., the second Sunday after your order).

WHERE ARE THESE PRODUCTS LOCATED?

All our products are already in Canada, in our warehouse, ready to be shipped. You will not have any customs fees or hidden charges upon delivery.

WHY DO YOU SHIP ONCE A WEEK?

Because we work with several importers and suppliers.

Some products are in limited quantity in our warehouse and we must wait for the missing items to be received.

Since our suppliers do not all deliver on the same day, we consolidate orders and ship once a week to ensure your order is complete.

WHY IS AN ITEM MISSING FROM MY ORDER?

Some of our suppliers do not have a real-time inventory system and do not always notify us when a product is out of stock.

In addition, some received items may have an expiration date that is too soon. We check each product upon receipt and remove those that do not meet our standards.

If an item is missing, it is because we have chosen not to include it in order to guarantee you the best possible quality.

WHY DON'T YOU HAVE A RETURN POLICY?

As these are food products, we cannot accept returns for safety and hygiene reasons.

Once a product has been shipped, we cannot guarantee the storage or handling conditions.

Why has the price of this product increased since my last order?

Our products are purchased in euros, so the exchange rate directly influences our prices.

In addition, transportation and import costs can vary, which can also impact the final price.
